What Jeffery Means to Me

MY HERO

I WROTE THIS POEM FOR MY BROTHER RIGHT AFTER 9/11

I COULDN'T GET IT OFF OF MY MIND THAT IT COULD HAVE

BEEN HIM THAT DAY. WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE TO STILL

HAVE HIM WITH US. MY HEART ACHES FOR ALL THOSE

THAT LOST THEIR LOVED ONES ON THAT DAY. JEFF HAS

ALWAYS BEEN MY HERO AND I HAVE LOOKED UP TO HIM

FOR ADVICE ALL OF MY LIFE. HE'S STILL MY HERO AND

WILL BE FOREVER. I'M SURE THAT OTHERS HAVE FELT THAT

JEFF HAS BEEN THEIR HERO AS WELL, SAVING THEM OR

A LOVED ONE FROM A BURNING HOME OR BUILDING.

I SALUTE YOU AS WELL AS ALL OTHER FIREMEN THAT

RISK THEIR LIVES EVERYDAY TO SAVE ANOTHERS.

GOD BLESS YOU AND BE WITH YOU.

FIREMAN'S PRAYER

When I'm called to duty
God wherever flames may be
Give me the strength to save some life
Whatever be it age
Help me embrace a little child
Before its too late
Or save an older person
from The horror of that fate
Enable me to be alert
and Hear the weakest shout
And quickly and effeciently
To put the fire out
I want to fill my calling
and To give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor
And protect their property
And if according to your will
I lose my life
Please bless with your Protective hand
My children and my wife

J is for Jesus for whom you dearly love

E is for eternal and everlasting love

F is for fireman whom you've grown up to be

F is for friends and strangers in need

R is for rescue when others do fall

E is for effort cause you give it your all

Y is for yourself the one I love most of all

cause you are my hero that God sent us all.
